Anti-capitalist nation
The recent street protests in France highlight not just the strength of anti-capitalism among the young, but among the French people at large.
Never was a rebellion so in tune with its society.
A GlobeScan survey, published at the height of the movement earlier this month, showed just how hostile to economic liberalism French opinion was.
A majority or plurality in all of the other 19 countries polled agreed with the statement: “The free enterprise system and free market economy is the best system on which to base the future of the world.”
France alone had a minority, 36%, agreeing with the statement, while 50% disagreed.
Ironically China had the largest majority (74% agreeing). Even Turkey (47%), Russia (43%) and Argentina (42%) each had just a plurality agreeing.
These and the other striking findings in the survey confirm that anti-capitalism is the official dogma of France, and explains why the country supported the protests.

Une ode à Blair/Thatcher! Dans un autre reportage on entend François Chérèque faire l’éloge du Plan Barre de 1978…
C’est la Twilight Zone: des terroristes stipendiés par la CIA et l’Entreprise Institute ont pris le contrôle d’Arte.
Le comité de censure de la chaine devait être en grève…
